Everything Prepared You for This Moment

Moments Are What You Make Them

Have you ever had a moment where everything just… clicked?

Not in a big, showy, throw-confetti kind of way. But in the quiet way. The kind that whispers to you, “This is what it was all for.”
That’s where I am now.

I’m about a year and a half into this new company—and I just hit blog number 50. Fifty weeks of writing. Fifty reflections. Fifty ways of showing up. That’s a milestone. And not because someone told me it is. But because I decided to mark it.

Moments Are What You Make of Them

Some people wait for the right moment. I choose to define mine.

This isn’t my 10-year business anniversary. It’s not a Forbes list or a funding round. But when I looked up and realized I’d shown up fifty times for this community—and myself—it stopped me in my tracks.

Eighteen months into building Leaders Uplifted, we’re in our chubby toddler phase. Growing fast. Learning faster. A little wobbly at times, but full of energy and joy.

It’s not just business growth I see—it’s voice. Strength. Vision. It’s everything I poured in from every version of me that came before.

And when I think about all the hours I spend working—not just building programs, but being in conversation, helping people get unstuck, creating spaces where growth feels real—I feel deeply proud.
This is not a side hustle. This is a body of work.
It’s the thing I’ve spent a career preparing for, even before I knew it.

If you ever wonder whether you’re “there” yet, I’ll offer this:
You get to decide what counts.
Your growth, your wins, your wisdom—you get to name the moment.

The Fires Shape You

I used to look at those people who walked across hot coals at personal growth retreats and think, “That looks hard.”
But honestly?
I’ve done the metaphorical version ten times over.

Starting a business in the middle of uncertainty? Check.
Rebuilding a career. Reinventing my voice. Letting go of roles that no longer fit. Creating something original with no roadmap. Check, check, and check.

The fires I walked through didn’t leave me burned—they refined me.
They revealed what I care about.
They clarified what I can withstand.

And if you’ve been through something hard lately—something nobody clapped for, something that didn’t make your LinkedIn—know this:
Those moments shape you too.
You carry that resilience. And it adds up.

Fulfillment Is the North Star

Work and life don’t live in separate boxes. They never have.

You’re not just clocking hours; you’re building something. You’re shaping who you are. And if you’re spending 40, 50, 60 hours a week working—it better feel good. At least some of the time. Fulfillment isn’t optional. It’s essential.

That’s how I know I’m in the right place.
Even on the hard days—even when I doubt or fumble—I feel it.

Because I believe in the results. I see how this work changes people. I see leaders step into their presence, their influence, their spark.
And it feels… aligned.

That’s my compass.
Not ease. Not perfection. But fulfillment.
If the work grows me and grows others, I’m on the right track.

This Moment Is Yours

There’s a belief I hear a lot: “I’m not ready yet.”

Ready for what?
The promotion? The pivot? The podcast? The panel?
The truth is, there’s no moment of arrival. Not like we imagine.

You create the arrival.
You decide what makes it real.
You design the life and leadership that reflects your values, your voice, your vision.

And if you’re waiting for it to feel easy?
You might be waiting forever.

Because if you’re leveling up—if you’re playing big—it won’t feel easy.
But it will feel worth it.

OK, Let’s Play

If you’re reading this, you’re already in the arena.

Let’s practice noticing the moments that matter. Let’s choose to define them.
Let’s make the work mean something—because it already does.

Ready: Decide that you’re not waiting to arrive.
This is your life, your work, your soundcheck. You’re already on stage.

Set: Notice where the fulfillment lives.
If you feel the spark—even when it’s hard—you’re closer than you think.

Go:

Here are four reminders to carry into your next moment:

  • You don’t need another degree. You need a place to practice. Try it out loud.
  • You don’t need the next right answer. You need to start putting yourself out there.
  • You don’t need someone else’s timeline. You get to define what counts and when.
  • You don’t need to wait. You already have what it takes. Everything prepared you for this.

Carpe Diem (For Real This Time)

We hear Carpe Diem and think: seize the day.
Big energy. Grand gestures. Life-changing leaps.

But here’s what I’ve learned:

Seizing the moment doesn’t always look like fireworks.
Sometimes it looks like showing up again.
Writing the next post. Launching the new idea. Having the hard conversation.
Celebrating the 50th, even if no one else is counting but you.

The truth is, this moment—this day, this stretch of your life—is shaped by you.
The decisions you make. The courage you summon. The energy you bring.
You make the moment meaningful.

So take a second and look around.
Really look.
You’ve come a long way. You’re not who you were a year ago. And you’re not done yet.

Everything prepared you for this moment.
This moment will prepare you for the next.
And the next.
And the next after that.

Let’s go.
